Established in 2003, the Taiwan Design Expo has been held in nearly 10 cities over the last two decades, accumulating more than 21 million visitors. Outdoor entertaining is key when it comes to Palm Springs decor and we love the clever addition of breeze blocks to the outdoor deck of this coastal home. Focusing on materiality and raw textures was key in the creation of this Palm Springs-style home in Perth. For the facade, textured bricks were laid in a geometric pattern to create a warm contrast to the clean lines of the rest of the home’s design. Artist Philip Drummond’s home features a low-maintenance garden that pairs traditional Japanese landscape design with the languid atmosphere of Palm Springs. My present clients are all former clients (some six or seven times!) or referrals from past clients.

Seen today, it’s hard to imagine that Jessy Moss and Steve Jocz’s glistening white home in Indian Wells, California, was marketed as a teardown only two years ago. Sparing it the wrecking ball, Jessy, an interior designer who used to be a singer/songwriter, and Steve, a realtor who was once a member of the band Sum 41, embarked on a restoration.

Many of the home’s original finishes could not be salvaged, including the walnut plywood in the dining area and kitchen. Recessed baseboards give the kitchen island, topped with a Whitehall Cambria countertop, the appearance that it is levitating. The gilded hanging lamp by Peill & Putlzer was purchased secondhand in France. As humans across the world have spent more time at home, we are becoming increasingly aware of its importance.

During the project, they uncovered evidence that the home might be an unrecognized work by iconic architect William F. Cody.
